19-year-old Ajax the producer turning heads

Tegamena Shipale AKA Ajax is a 19-year-old independent producer and hip-hop artist from Oshakati raised in Tsumeb. A cool fact about this young the producer is the amount of talent he is surpassing his age.

The fresh artist realised his talent in 2015, after watching the BET awards programme which helped him to see music as a career path he says.

“I saw something different about music, I was inspired by that. Even after school I would just be on the laptop already downloading videos from YouTube then I would just rap.”

In 2017 Ajax took a turn to producing his own beats via the FL studio app. Soon after, he started producing his own beats and selling them to potential artist that would be interested. This soon led Ajax to work with talented upcoming artists like Jean Jacques.

“I started working on Jean Jacques album, it’s entitled Eunoia and I really wasn’t expecting to make into the album, ” the artist says.

Ajax however winded up producing two of Jean Jacques tracks in the album as according to him, Jacques saw something different about him. Apart from producing two tracks on Eunoia, Ajax has had a productive year thus far especially after he caught the attention of the hip-hop Queen.

“I received a message from Lioness saying send me beats and when I saw that I was really shocked.”

Ajax was also recognised by Noted HipHop on the Hot 19 beat playlist during January this year which the enthusiastic music lover says motivated him to work harder. The producer hopes to work with more hip-hop artist in the future.

Ajax’s single with Jean Jacque entitled Better is now available on SoundCloud for streaming.
