Beating the winter chills… Reinhard’s guide

Johannes Orr

Hot summer days may be behind us but the winter fashion is killer and warm, a reason enough to refresh your closet and tackle a new trend.

Continental and local award-winning fashion stylist, Reinhard Mahalie shared with unwrap.online how you can stay warm while still looking stylish this winter.

“Winter colours are vibrant, dramatic, and sophisticated. They are blue-based cool colours and are best accented with white, gold, or platinum”, Mahalie said.

A must-have for this winter season or at least one of these items.

The stylist said nothing says off-duty chic like a cashmere crewneck sweater.

“This sweater looks great with a collared shirt protruding from underneath and goes with everything including midi skirts, jeans, printed trousers, and leather pants”, he added.

Statement Coat

In winter your outerwear is the most important aspect of your wardrobe so why not make a statement with it?
“A statement coat will add a pop of colour to any neutral or all-black outfit”, the fashion stylist expressed.

Blanket Wrap Scarf

“The blanket wrap scarf is a chic and effortless addition to any winter outfit and the bigger, the better we say!

There are countless ways to style this cold-weather accessory, either thrown carelessly over your shoulder or wrapped around multiple times and you are ready to go,” said Mahalie.

To look stylish during winter and not like a hot mess Mahalie says that it’s important for both guys and ladies to invest in timeless and versatile clothing items.” Like a leather jacket and types of denim,” he said.

The perfect excuse for new shoes, Reinhard says “this is the season to step up your shoe game and step on our necks. Gentlemen invest in Chelsea boots and ladies you can never go wrong with ankle and thigh-high boots.”

Lastly, the hairstyle completes the look. “Faux locs is fun and versatile and will complement all your winter chic looks. A bun can work for a day or night look. Always keep your hair moisturized during winter,” the stylist concludes.
