Fashion designer Melissa Poulton leads by example as she walks the talk.
Having been in business for the past nine years, renowned designer Melissa Poulton decided to do things slightly different from her latest collection for winter. Melissa who is usually behind the scenes decided to launch her collection on Instagram TV where she is walking her makeshift runway. Speaking to unwrap.online, the bubbly designer said she took a new approach to change the status quo given that she dresses and gets questioned occasionally on her wardrobe.
“ I wanted to model the collection myself because I felt that many plus size women relate to me a lot and to show that the House of Poulton does cater to plus size women. So that is why I decided to model them myself. The House of Poulton brand would like to tap into the plus-size market,” she said.
Even though it is titled Plus Size Winter Collection, it is available for purchase online is not only for plus size women as it comes in various sizes too.
“I really wanted to show plus size women that designers do cater for them, many times we as designers tend to only use smaller, taller and more petite women and with this plus size women sometimes feel like those clothes wouldn’t fit their size. I want to show women that no matter your size you can still look good also depending on how you style your look,” she said.
Melissa as the creative director of House of Poulton says that over the years she has learned that ensuring one’s collection makes clients confident and comfortable with what they wear. This has helped her flourish and make her to become a household name in the industry.
“ What I have learned in the past few years that different sizes are very important each women no matter her size wants to feel special and catered for,” she concluded.
