Tomorrow the continent celebrates Africa Day and despite the world having come to a complete standstill with the coronavirus pandemic, it does not mean that there will be no commemoration to take place.
Majority of the African music giants including Elemotho, Salif Keita and Angelique Kidjo will be putting on a virtual show that is being hosted by Worldwide Afro Network (WAN). The spectacle titled #IAmWAN is aimed to create awareness and foster solidarity in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking on being part of the iconic lineup, the award-winning artist Elemotho says he couldn’t be more honoured.
” I am humbled to be involved as a Namibian artist and being part of an amazing online event with icons such as Chris Martin, Yossour Ndour and Mory Konte. It is for Africans by Africans and friends, ” he said.
The concert comes just after a month the internationally renowned Elemotho has released a new single titled Home that speaks of Namibia, sending hope during the lockdown.
The event is slated to take place tomorrow and will be broadcasted for free in prime time, on a number of African national channels and some private channels, with the technical support of the African Union Broadcasting and Thomson Broadcast.
