The Delegation of the European Union (EU) in Namibia launched the flagship Europe Day
2021 under the theme “Stronger Together” on Friday, 23 April 2021. This year, the Europe
Day official reception will be hosted on Friday, 7 May 2021 at the EU residence.
The event will celebrate the strong relationship between the Republic of Namibia and the EU, showcase EU’s involvement through various projects in Namibia and provide an opportunity for the Namibian nation to engage the EU. Speaking at the launch of the Europe Day, H.E. Sinikka Antila, EU Ambassador to Namibia said, “As our theme is Stronger Together, we believe that we are all stronger and more resilient when we work together and support one another to achieve a common goal. This is even more evident during Covid times, as nations are working together to find a lasting solution to combat this pandemic.”
The annual Europe day commemorates the Schuman Declaration of 9 May 1950 with the aim to facilitate peace, collaboration and unity among EU member states and to work towards a better future. The vision of partnership has since been extended to other nations, such as Namibia, with the common goal of providing support and sharing best practises that is key for inclusive development and shared prosperity.
In the lead up to the Europe day, the EU will be engaged in various events co-hosted in
partnership with our stakeholders. We invite members of the Namibian public to join us at
