Finding Courage to use laughter against abuse

Namibia’s primed comedian, Courage the Comedian will be hosting a comedy show like no other. This time partnering with Gweri Vintage, Kasi Vibes, FreeYourMind and Simply you Magazine in a bid to combat social ills against vulnerable groups like women and the LGBTIQ community in Namibia.

Themed around raising awareness and contributions to lobby groups that fight ills of rape, gender based violence, intolerance of other people’s orientations as well as raising awareness about the need for living in harmony this is one not to be missed.

As a comedian who has lived in Namibian and now adopted by the society under the Nambabwean Banner, Courage sees the need to use art especially comedy to contribute to the needs of those marginalised or austricised groups in society.

For a man who lives from making everyone laugh and smile Courage the Comedian has seen the wrath of young girls being brutally murdered at the hands of man while witnessing those few communities going through stigmatisation. This is not a society that fun and co-existence admires to have hence we need to find a subtle way like comedy to tackle these ills. He has decided to use his best known weapon of comedy as a way of combating these ills.

Proceeds from this show will go to different lobby groups that have in the past stood head above shoulders to combat societal evils that pull back progress of the girl child or the marginalised societies.
The Show will be on the 7th of June at the Warehouse Theater starting at 19H30

Tickets will be N$80 in advance and $100 at the Door.  Tickets are available on all Events Today platforms including the airtime kiosks across the country.
