Arguably one of the most successful, renowned and beloved musicians of his generation, Gazza is one luminary who never seems to skip a beat. The ‘Koko’ hitmaker has been on the hunt for an imposter on social media who is impersonating him as Gazza/467.
Gazza uploaded a message to his fans on his verified social media platforms warning them to not believe that it is him. The artist told unWrap.online that it is not the first time that the person or persons are using his name and pretending to be him.
“I have no idea who is running that page and we have been reporting it but Facebook has done nothing about it. The page has posted unfounded and really damaging attacks using my face and my name and they are busy doing it again,” he said.
While imposter scams are quite popular in many first world countries, Namibia is clearly not an exception. A few other local celebrities including Exit, King Tee Dee, Top Cheri, and Tate Buti have all fallen victim to people pretending to be them.
Gazza further said that although they have reported it countless times, the only way to get Facebook’s attention is to ask people to report it.
“We have started a petition on my social media pages so people can report the page and they already started doing it. Right now we are just running that campaign so that Facebook can shut it down because it is really damaging my image,” he added.
