The 10th Girl Up leadership summit is yet back, bringing with it a series of speeches and inspiration on female empowerment from all corners of the world! Making stops around the globe, Sub-Saharan Africa is aimed at focusing on the status of menstrual hygiene in African countries and discussed how you can advocate ending period poverty activists and young changemakers as well as leaders in the sphere.
The leaders include Tadiwanashe Burukai the Executive Director of WoMandla Foundation, Jamila Mayanja, CEO-Smart Girls Uganda, Baliqees Salaudeen, Youth Social Activist and Girl Up Nigeria President and Clare Najjemba Country Manager of Cotton On Foundation Uganda to mention a few.
Slated for 10 July 2021, The essence of the day is to create massive awareness about the importance of good menstrual hygiene management and the need to draw the awareness of females to this all important aspect of their feminine growth.
Girl Up is an NGO leadership association that aims to unite and empower young women across the world to fight for equality in wages, rights and living standards.
Every year, the organisation holds a summit with high-profile speakers discussing issues of gender and equality. For the main summit slated for 13 to 14 July, speakers including Nomzamo Mbatha are expected.
