Windhoek is a place where locals find themselves loving beef, beer and good music. This could be an outrage experience for tourists and expats.

The entertainment industry in Windhoek is vastly growing therefore one could enjoy a variety of places and atmospheres.

As much as these new places pop up there are places that stay true to the type of service they provide and the experience they have to offer. Here are some of these plase.

Chopsi’s bar

Chopsi’s bar is one of a kind because of its interior of wooden bar leather stools and leather couches, along with bookshelves and a different country’s flag which exhibits their openness to diversity. The bar provides a variety of drinks from different types of wine and cognac to all the usual pub fare is available.

Cape Town Fish market

Cape Town Fish Market is a restaurant known for its vibrant ambiance and their Japanese cuisine from sushi to sashimi. The restaurant is mostly famous for its seafood and wide range of finest african wines. While enjoying your meal on the patio one could enjoy the view from there especially when the sun is setting.

Single Quarters, Kapana

Kapana is a meat delicacy which is enjoyed by both locals and tourists. Single Quarters is a place where meat sellers work together by grilling beef, liver or kidneys which is usually paired with some salsa ( finely chopped onions, tomatoes finished off with some kapana spice and vinegar), vetkoek or mahangu pap. Once you’re done, you could always head to Bix Car Wash which is opposite Single Quarters to wash it all down with a cold beer.

Stratos At Avani
Restaurant, Bar

If you’re looking for a more sophisticated ambience Stratos is your spot. The restaurant caters for a more fine dining experience whether it be local cuisine or an international cuisine or you could enjoy contemporary drinks and be amazed by resident mixologists as they create cocktails. Not forgetting your experience intensified by vibrant music or occasional live music being played.

El Barrio
Restaurant, Tapas Bar

Want a different experience? El Barrios is the place to visit, they serve a spanish cuisine from tacos to tortillas, with the bar offering a wide range of different drinks but their delicious Mexican Tombo “Corona” beats all other drinks.
