Inside Leah Misika and Melisa Poulton Jäger X‘s capsule collection

Boss girls making boss moves and boss designs for everyone!

What do you get when two of the best designer heads in the country get together? A one of a kind hot collaboration is what you get!
Jan Jooster by Leah Misika and Melisa Poulton is inspired by a local Namibian saying from the south “Jiri Jan Jooster” meaning “Oh dear” or “Oh my god” which is rather ironic because the man who lived in the south of Namibia by that name was known for his style and his “holiness” in his community. Jan Jooster was a man that was way ahead of his time and stuck in an era where he was misunderstood and put in a box.

Jäger X is an ongoing collaboration initiative between Jägermeister and creative artists in Namibia. Jäger X aims to provide a platform for artists to display their talent, and work.
“We sought out individuals that are inspired by the Jägermeister brand, and its philosophy. Each collaboration is the manifestation of that idea, and each collection released is the Jäger X collaborators take on what the Jägermeister brand means to them,” said Jägermeister Namibia.

This capsule collection by Leah Misika and Melisa Poulton is reminiscent of such characteristics. They sort to create a unisex capsule collection that would appeal to both the men and women that love their street wear out of the box but still within its time.

This is very exciting as the two designers who are more than colleagues have never done collaboration before. The idea has been put to work since last year October and will finally be revealed on 31 May at the Warehouse Theatre. Tickets are selling for N$ 150 and they are available on Events Today.
