Kavango Music Awards nominated artists announced

The public can now vote online and via SMS for their winners to walk away with cash prizes and more.

Soon to take place in the heart of the two mighty Kavango regions, the organisers of the now much-anticipated awards announced the nominated artists who stand a chance to walk away as the best their nominated categories.

The two-day event taking place in the Rundu Trade fair hall on 19-20 June 2020 will see the emerging winners walk away with N$ 5000 and an accolade for their achievements.

“Since it is the beginning of the project, the KAMA team has set each category at N$ 5000 plus accolades. The top four prizes for the categories best male and female artists of the year, best music video and song of the year are to be announced on due course, ” says the events communications spokesperson, Magdalena Haingura.

Speaking on how the nominees were selected, Haingura says a vigorous and thorough process was done by a team consisting of Nascam and other established members who ensured that the artists stood a chance within their leagues.

” The artists applied within their respective categories and a vetting process followed to ensure that all required documentation is in place. The music and forms were then sent to well-known artists who listened to the music to nominate their fellows and should a name of an artist or song appear on more than three lists that qualified them to be a nominee for the awards, ” says the team.

The organisers urge local and national sponsors to come on board to the event a success as well as to celebrate Kavango talent.

Here are the nominated artists in their respective categories.

Members of the public can vote as of today for their favourite artists online and via SMS with details to be made available on the KAMA social media platforms.
