They saw her work, they loved it and invited her to showcase at Lusaka July!
The good thing about your work like there is no tomorrow is because you never know who is in the crowd watching you. Melisa Poulton is one who can attest to this as her work managed to impress a few heads in a crowd and scored her an invitation! The Namibian renowned designer had a busy yet fashion-filled past week as she was in Lusaka Zambia for Lusaka July and she had a lot to say about it.
Melisa who had showcased at last year’s Windhoek Fashion Week said she got invited by the Lusaka July team who were impressed by her work. The theme for Lusaka July was 21st Century Garden and Melisa Poulton got inspired by it for her Blossom collection.
“The Lusaka July theme for 2019 inspired my collection which was 21st Century Garden. I wanted to be creative and really go with the idea of using flowers. I used fresh flowers on some of the garments. I love flowers and I loved the fact that I could be as creative as possible. The opportunity to showcase was great and the experience was amazing.
Melisa who showcased for the first time at Lusaka July said the trip was most definitely worthwhile as she networked and gain experience which she will forever cherish.
