MTC commits to fighting homelessness

Thirty Namibian personalities will be staging a live band concert for the second edition of the MTC Knockout Project 2020.

The project against homelessness aims to raise awareness, create conversation and find solutions, in addition to raising funds of about N$1 million.

According to the Mobile Telecommunications Company(MTC) Chief Human Capital and Corporate Affairs Officer Tim Ekandjo, personalities have been challenged to perform two hit songs of 30 Namibian artists.

“These personalities will be challenged to do the unthinkable in the interest of the cause. They will have to their disposal the artist who owns the 2 hit songs, a studio, a Choreographer, a Voice Coach, a Live Band, Professional Dancers and a Producer who will work with them for the next three months to get them ready for a performance of a lifetime, helping them to raise their voices and sing till we sing a roof over the heads of the homeless,” said Ekandjo.

Personalities up for the challenge include Merja Ileka, Esperance Luvindao, Neville Basson and Anne Hambunda.

This musical concert is scheduled for 3 October 2020 at the National Theatre of Namibia. The public can watch the concert online for N$50 while tickets to watch the concert live cost N$500.
Proceeds from the concert will go towards assisting the homeless.
