As the country continues to celebrate proud Namibian moments, MTC this morning made a sterling donation of N$100 000 and an iPhone 12 Pro to Miss Namibia 2021 Chelsi Shikongo as she prepares to represent the country at Miss Universe in Israel later this year.
At the press announcement today, MTC’s Tim Ekandjo emphasized the importance of investing and supporting Namibian ambassadors such that they better represent the country without worry.

“Today we called Chelsi because we as a truly Namibian brand believe in your talent and that of any Namibian girl child. We say to you, go out there and represent the country without any worries. Just do your best and make history,” said Ekandjo.
Shikongo describes herself as “honoured” to be able to represent her country on a worldwide level.
“I’d want to thank the MTC team and Tim Ekandjo for this amazing gift, for allowing me to compete in Miss Universe, which is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me, and for the Namibian people’s support and believe in me,” she says.
For the first time, Miss Namibia’s runner-up winner will represent the country in Miss World 2021. Miss Teen Namibia, Alexis Swart, will also compete in the Miss Teen Universe 20121 Pageant in Dubai.
Connie Maritz, Miss Namibia’s organizer, expresses her gratitude to MTC for joining this year.
“ The franchise cost is enormously large, which we have paid, and our girl will take part. This year, we have a lot of potential on the international stage, and we need Namibia’s help,” she said.
The donation also includes monthly airtime to the value of N$2000 during her reign.
