MTC Windhoek Fashion Week Model Call Out

Having hosted over 400 models in the past 6 years, the MTC Windhoek Fashion Week is hosting another model casting on 9 April 2022.

Models play a critical role in marketing designers’ gowns on the runway and their contribution to the success of the event is very important.

The MTC Windhoek Fashion Week was established in 2016 with a focus on creating a platform for Namibian designers to market their work to buyers and consumers. Fashion week has created employment for fashion students in terms of internship, technical and production, models, and other careers within the fashion industry.

With the vital role they play at the MTC Windhoek Fashion Week, we have seen models being scouted at the event to do work outside the Namibian borders. The platform is a good opportunity for models to prepare for any other event and also an opportunity to collaborate with industry professionals.

“A model needs to have a Zcard to cast at the MTC Windhoek Fashion Week as a Zcard has the necessary information like height, waist size and so forth which helps designers to create the clothes in advance without doing measurements of the model. Models from all corners of Namibia are welcome to cast as the MTC Windhoek Fashion Week is open to everyone in Namibia and outside the country. Castings will start at 9:00 am until 15:00 pm at the National Theatre of Namibia,” said Kalistu Mukoroli, from the organising committee.

“The theme for this year is Sustainably Namibia and as the MTC Windhoek Fashion Week, we want to contribute to the sustainable fashion industry,” said Mukoroli.
