MTCWFW’21 Made In Namibia

In its sixth edition, The MTC Windhoek Fashion Week is set for 2 – 6 November 2021 in  Windhoek. This is Namibia’s biggest fashion event which attracts designers from all corners  of Namibia and also international designers from South Africa, Zambia, Rwanda, and Angola  to name a few countries.

The theme for this year is “Made in Namibia” which celebrates everything that is made in  Namibia. The fashion industry is growing rapidly with new designers showcasing at MTC  Windhoek Fashion Week and also new models being added to the runway lineup. With this  rapid growth, the MTC Windhoek Fashion Week created this platform to celebrate and  allow Namibian and international designers to showcase their collections and also  collaborate. The MTC Windhoek Fashion Week is also in talks with other organization across Africa to give opportunity to Namibian Designers for them to go and showcase in those  countries, we will share more information about this in due time.

Designer applications are open whereby student/start Up, Emerging and Established  designers can apply to showcase this year. There is an application fee of N$250 payable  upon submitting the online application form. Designers need to visit our website  www.whkfashionweek.com and apply online, only online applications will be accepted and  the closing date is 15 May 2021.

Model casting will be done in Ongwediva, Swakopmund, and Windhoek to allow most  models to be cast by the selection committee which will travel to those towns, exact dates  will be communicated in advance. There will be a model masterclass to prepare all the  models before the model castings to ensure that they have the necessary knowledge.  Everyone is welcome to attend the masterclass.
