MultiChoice Namibia hosts Game of Thrones watch party

Game of Thrones (GOT) is currently one of the most talked about shows around the world, and that’s for a good reason.

Season 8 of GOT went out with a bang, or at least we thought. MultiChoice held a lavish GOT themed party with members of the Namibian media industry to watch the last episode of Game of Thrones.

The party featured an array of different GOT inspired food choices, there was fruits, different kinds of cheeses, blue cheese, gouda cheese, porks, sausagues, nuts, pomegranate seeds, whole grains breads, steak, pork…you name it…everything was there.

There was even a special edition of the White Walker Johnie Walker whiskey on display.

The decorations for the party and the set up was also amazing, it felt like you were a part of the seven Kingdoms. There were opulent brass covered mini tables, candle chandeliers, wooden tables and and fancy leather seats. The environment was just right and the ambience was very inviting.

With that said, the media personalities all headed to the MultiChoice Namibia cinema to watch the last episode of season eight and this is where everything gets interesting. Also, spoiler alert!! Game of Thrones is known for its cruel and unpredictable and captivating story lines and plots. Much thought is normally put into character development and how the plot unfolds but for many the last episode was too sombre and very mellow. Treza Cooper, radio personality from 99Fm did not know how to describe the final episode of Game of Thrones. “It was very emotional and I just don’t know what to say. I am not sure whether I am excited or disappointed but I am happy that Daenerys did not sit on the throne,” she said.

Levana Cloete, Corporate Affairs manager at Multichoice Namibia also said she was surprised by the the sudden change in the GOT finale episode with regards to who was going to sit on the throne. “I am glad that Bran The Broke sat at the throne, as long as Daenerys was not on the throne I am glad, she was very evil,” she said.

Another person who was not impressed by GOT was Shokii Kandjimi, Communications manager at NUST FM. “I do not think I will be watching game of thrones after this episode. I have never watched it but the last episode was not fun at all and it ended in a disappointment,” he shared.
