Musician Sebulon Axue passes on at 56

A sad day for the Namibain music industry as vocalist and guitarist Sebulon ‘Axue’ Gomachab has been confirmed dead.

Legendary artist Axue who recently celebrated his 56th birthday at a Night Under the Stars event has passed on this morning. The sad news has been confirmed by a music concierge and family friend Andre Gariseb.

“It is unfortunate that he passed on this morning. I can’t share more details at the moment but it is indeed true that he is no longer with us, ” he said.

Born in Windhoek but raised in the remote Okombahe, Axue is part of a musical family and taught himself how to the play the guitar at the age of 14-years for him to also feature in the family band. He was a student at the prominent Martin Luther High School in Okombahe, where he met and grew up with many other musical influencers in pre-independent Namibia.

Fellow musicians and fans gave taken onto social media to share their loving memories and to mourn the artist.
