Nedbank Namibia will host a live simulcast of the popular Design Indaba Conference 2020 from 26 to 28 February at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC). The event will stage the creative optimism and activism people have come to expect from the flagship platform. Lauded as the Best Conference in the world, Design Indaba has become a respected institution on the global creative landscape, with the stated intent of imagining a better world through creativity.
Not only will it give the Namibian creative industry access to an ensemble cast of acclaimed speakers, spanning the disciplines of design and innovation through the simulcast, but the event will also showcase Namibian design through a curated exhibition inspired by homegrown design aesthetics. What sets the silver jubilee edition of Design Indaba apart is the lineup of unique talks and presentations by renowned creatives and designers throughout the event.
The stellar lineup of speakers includes the likes of Robert Wong, one of the most influential designers in the US, and Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, multiple award-winning Shanghai-based ‘starchitects’. The full speaker line-up is available online at www.conference.designindaba.com.
Nedbank Namibia’s collaboration with the Design Indaba Conference 2020 is closely aligned with the bank’s innovative positioning of its products and brand, and aims to showcase the manner in which they embrace collaboration, innovation and design thinking. According to a statement released by Nedbank Namibia, this thinking is also reflected and enunciated by the design of the bank’s new Head Office, which is currently under construction in Windhoek’s central business district. Ultimately, Nedbank Namibia wishes to create a space, which inspires and empowers Namibians to create a better future through design, creativity and collaboration. Other partners for the Design Indaba Conference 2020 live simulcast in Windhoek include TribeFire Studios, Paratus and Turipamwe Design.
