Oshoveli leads the film and directing workshop for Bank Windhoek creatives

Award winning director Oshoveli Shipoh is leading a film and directing workshop for the creative department at Bank Windhoek.

Oshoveli broke the news to his fans on social media saying that he will be teaching the art of directing and the secrets to award winning success in the film industry.

The training that has already commenced in February and will be ending in April with each of the three months covering a different basis of film that gives value to filmmakers in the industry.

According to Oshoveli, considering the size of the industry the many aspiring film artists getting in the game and some who are already in the game struggling to turn it into a career might not have the right business approach to film despite wanting to sell their talents.

“The industry can only grow when we are more strategic about how to position film as a value to the economy. Take away any video-based or broadcast platforms and you lose 60% of information about everything and anything. So my contribution is solely based on how I can help change that and improve the value of film artists and the industry as a whole”.

For the participants, Oshoveli says he wants them to realise that he is setting up certain tools to help them understand what works in the industry and what doesn’t work. “I also want them to see everything from different perspectives as well as the importance of demonstrating value from a business point of view.”
