The organizers of SYMLAFA hand over official winner prizes at an intimate ceremony.
The fairest of them all in their respective leagues have received their 2019 Simply You Magazine Lifestyle and Fashion Awards (SYMLAFA) after being crowned recently. At an intimate ceremony held at the Marigold Hotels this week, the 18 winners received prizes from the sponsors including Air Namibia, Namibia Wildlife Resort, Trans Namib, Jay Aeron, Marigold Hotels, Chrisla Essentials, and Umti Lodge.
“The idea of this year’s awards was to promote local tourism and travels within the country for our winners as there are no cash prizes this year,” says Helena Ngaifiwa, an organizer of the event.
Former deputy prime minister Dr. Libertina Amadhila received the honorary award of the year. She spoke highly of the Namibian youth saying the elders are leaving Namibia in good hands. Amadhila also said she is proud of what the youth are doing to keep the culture of celebrating one another. She further added that she is proud of the outcome of the event and the organizers must keep up with the good work.
South African comedian Lasizwe was the special guest at this year’s event. He made a valuable remark saying the world is sleeping on Namibia as it is a country full of creatives in terms of music and fashion just to mention a few.
