PlayBit: Namibia’s music streaming application

Donlu Africa recently hit a million streams on their music streaming website and such achievements show that there is a huge demand and consumption of local music. This is why it is no surprise that there is a new music streaming mobile application called PlayBit aiming to be one of the most convenient ways to listen to Namibian music.

PlayBit mobile offers online and offline music play. According to the company’s official statement on Google Play Store, you can customise a playlist for yourself, pick different colour schemes and change the look and feel and layout the application to suit your desires. “Browse over hundreds of playlists packed with different music genres. Let music takes control. It sounds so cool to control kind of music you would like to listen to. Partly everything on PlayBit is custom,” they said.

They shared that their users can stream over ‘over 10 thousand music tracks’ on their application. The music application offers three different packages for its customers. There is the PlayBit free, PlayBit Premium and PlayBit Buddy packages. For those opting to use Play Bit Premium, the package comes with unlimited music play, offline play and you can download music. PlayBit Free users will enjoy music streams, music shuffle play and occasional ads. Those who subscribe to PlayBit Buddy have access to unlimited music play, offline play, music downloads, no advertisements and they can connect up to six of their PlayBit profiles.

The application is only available for Android users at the moment and it is the brainchild of Matthew Johannes.
