Last year’s Miss Namibia finalist, Prisca Anyolo won the 2022 Best Media Partner Award presented by Milestones Pageants in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
She is currently employed by a local television station, We Tel TV in that country.
“It feels absolutely amazing to win this award. I did not expect it at all and that is the crazy part about it because I went there to work. It was a little bit shocking but I feel really humbled and honoured.”
“I feel like I am my biggest critic, so it just feels really good for somebody else to tell me that I am doing a good job and that I should keep going,” a jubilant Anyolo said during a recent interview.
According to her, even though she was primarily striving to win the award she sacrificed a lot for it.
Anyolo, who prioritises having eight hours of sleep daily as well as regular eating and workout patterns, said that she had to adjust schedules so that she could work more diligently.
“I sacrificed a lot to get this recognition but I was not even doing it for the recognition. I was just doing it to prove to myself why I left my country and went to Dubai because you can’t just come here and do a mediocre job. You have to stand out from the rest.”
“People need to know that you are the best of the best, so that meant a lot of late nights. I used to complain a lot for jobs that ended at 17:00, wanting to go home at 16:00.”
“But for this job, I wake up super early and I leave at 23:00 and sometimes at midnight,” she said.
Prisca Anyolo encouraged others who strive to be media practitioners and entertainment figures to strive to craft their own successful futures regardless of their past circumstances.
