Promoting tourism with influencers

Calling all Namibian influencers! If you have ever fancied yourself as an influencer this is your opportunity. The Namibia Wildlife Resort (NWR) has put out a call for all influencers to be part of a campaign that is open to any legal resident in Namibia who can conduct work of such nature.

“Statistics show that social media in Namibia is on a growth trajectory amongst the 24 – 35-year-olds, which is a market we want to create awareness regarding our establishments,” said Nesongano the corporate communications manager.

Ask who qualifies as an influencer, Nesongano says this is someone who has an active social media presence and has quality engagements with their followers.

“We are not just looking for individuals with the most followers, as even those with fewer followers might have a higher engagement rate than those with more followers,” said.

“NWR choose to go this route based upon the requests from social media Influencers who wanted to work with us. To ensure transparency in the identification process, we decided to have a nationwide callout. This way, no one would be left out at the opportunity of submitting their proposal,” he concluded.

 The program will run from 1 July 2021 – 31 October 2021.
