Award winning stylist, Reinhardt Mahalie has been nominated for the Designer Awards Africa to be hosted in Lagos Nigeria this year.

Mahalie will contest in the category of best Male Fashion Stylist.

According to him, this nomination was a surprise.

He further added that nominations like these serve as proof that our [Namibian] work is visible and people recognize our art,

“This is a win for the entire Namibian Fashion Industry.”

He encourages Namibians to vote for him online for a little fee of N$2.00 from the 27 September until the 26 October.

Taking place in November 2020 in Lagos, Mahalie is definitely not new to being nominated. Over the past 4 years of his fashion career, he has scooped 7 nominations and 4 of these being international ones.

The Designer Awards Africa recognise creatives in Africa that have been consistently pushing boundaries and perfecting their craft. This year they will be running under the theme ‘Heroes’ which is a special celebration coming into its own power through diversity, heritage and culture.
