Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi’s message of taking up space is the energy we all need in 2020 and Namibia’s saxophonist Suzy Eises is well in formation.
Suzy has promised to cement her place and the presence of Namibia on the global stage with her first international performance in Dubai earlier this year.
Alongside other female musicians from across the globe, Suzy gave a killer performance at an East-West fusion concert featuring an all-women ensemble. This, according to her, was inspirational to have worked and performed with world-class professional female musicians from all over the world.
“We instantly bonded and with just one rehearsal we were able to deliver an exciting performance for the guests in Dubai. This was the first time we performed together with our unique genres, styles and instinct instruments and it proved to be an evening to remember,” stated Suzy.
Having enjoyed networking and making friends with the people of Dubai Suzy says that she will be going back sometime soon owing to the welcoming, friendly reception as well as the opportunities with the music she performs.
Sharing on social media, Suzy said that taking up space on international stages has started to become a thing for her. “I am thankful that my heavenly father has offered me so many opportunities to represent Namibia as well as Africa and share the joy that music brings,” read her post.
Late last year Suzy also made a special appearance at the Durban Jazz Festival.
