SYMLAFA slated for September

By Emilie Shimbali

Simply You Lifestyle and Fashion Magazine (SYMLAFA) will throw a night of magic on 25 September 2020 at the NTN in Windhoek.

The event will take place under the theme “Avant-Garde ”, in recognition and celebration of hard workers who contribute to the development of the art and entertainment sector.

This is the fourth time the Simply You Lifestyle Awards take place as there is a vast growing creative Industry in the country.

The event also includes celebrating the lifestyle and fashion design industry.
The managing editor, Ndapewoshali Shapwanale, said this year’s celebration is sponsored by NBC, Coca-Cola, NWR and other companies are to be announced in due course.

Unlike other years the event is a bit distracted by COVID-19 as many people might not like to gather in a large group and the biggest challenge is that they have fewer categories this year.

Helena Ngaifiwa said the event is aimed at promoting tourism in the country and the winners will walk away with the N$ 5000 voucher sponsored by Namibia wildlife resorts, hence this is an opportunity for winners to explore the beauty of Namibia and help expand the attraction outside the country.

The celebration is accompanied in different categories such as favourite male model, favourite TV presenter, makeup artist of the year, favourite accessories, fitness personality and others. Some nominees include Swaartboi Johanna a model, Anne Hambuda, Gabriel Moonde, Denzel Mupunga and others more are available on the website as well as their social media platforms such as Twitter.

“People can start voting already the SMS line is open from today (10010) and the SMS costs three dollars. ”Ngaifiwa excitedly said.
