The concept of “the Roast” originates from the USA, where a set of about 8 to 10 roasters (comedians/celebrities) come together to roast each other and then finally getting to roast the main subject of the night. The Highlight of the evening is when the main roastee, in this case, Michael Amushelelo, gets to roast everybody who roasted him. But we equally find it to be a Namibia tradition“Oh yeah” it truly is, remember in high school “as Iemand se jam soet was” then you would know its their turn to be the subject of the day. This concept inspired “the Gwarra”.
