Rythym, beat, flow, lyrics. All those things make up a good rap song and that is all Skipper Wills is about.
Northern-based rap king Skipper Wills released his single “Young King” on Viralcom and it has been making rounds, proving that he has the northern hip hop base on his head and soon to capture the rest of Namibia and beyond. The young king who is pro digital says the aim is to get Young King track on all Namibian digital streaming and purchasing sites in order to get his content delivered so no one misses out.
“I came up with this song because I wanted to stand out as an individual from old and new age rappers do also just to show the hip hop industry that there’s a young king coming for the throne,” he said.
Hip hop is practically in Skipper’s blood, the rapper grew up listening to rap music fed to him by his uncle. Fast forward a couple of years later Skipper came into the music scene with Singles and Mixtapes.
“I grew up listening to rap music and in high school, I was known as the superstar,” he said.
His latest hip-hop single (Young King ), after his previous EP that he dropped in November last year, is no exception. The rapper has yet to release an album or an extended project but with the way he’s been dropping tracks, one can’t wait to see what Skipper Wills comes up with next.
The song is produced by one of Namibia’s very young producer in the north (Praise), who also co-produced both his EP’s.
“ Working with Praise has always been a great pleasure, he has always recognized my work and he never stops pushing me to work harder, he is very open and always ready to work” he said.
“Despite the pandemic, marketing and doing music for me never stopped and that’s what keeps the name going and I will be working on new music the public must expect a new project too” skipper concludes.
