Top Cheri partners with Ministry of Health for the Cakes of Hope

Besides dropping her sophomore album, TopCheri is doing other great things.

And if the latest announcement of her ‘Matrimony’ is anything to go by, Top Cheri has added her name to the line of personalities who are influential in the health sector.

The ‘Calling Heaven songstress became ambassador for the ministry of health’s cancer campaign themed ‘Cakes of Hope with Top Cheri’ last week when she broke the news to her social media fans.

While the project is still in its infancy stages Top Cheri promised a glimpse of it soon. “The project incorporates the Cancer Association of Namibia. However, with the ministry of health we are still busy with the logistics,” she mentioned.

With the aim to raise cancer awareness and the importance of cancer check ups for the girl child, the campaign includes the selling of cupcakes from Shiwa the Baker and Lwapwapa’s bakery every week. The funds raised from the campaign will fund girls’ visits to CAN for cancer checks including pap smears.

“I feel blessed to be given this platform to educate women in our country more about cancer and the importance of check-ups. This project is dear to my heart because I believe the public is not well educated on cancer hence we keep losing our loved ones.

My aim is to educate the whole of Namibia at large about cancer and its prevention. Cancer is not for the rich neither is it for white people, it affects us all as a nation and it’s high time we bring upon change by educating everyone in Namibia about it,” she narrates.
