#unWrapReactions: Gazza’s logo competition trends on twitter

By Jeoffrey Mukubi

Early Saturday morning, the 2020 NAMA Artist of the Decade, Gazza started trending after he put up a competition on Twitter for fans, graphic designers or anybody for that matter to come up with a new logo for his ‘Gazza’ brand. I’m looking for a new logo for the “Gazza” brand and I want you, yes YOU to help me create one Artist palette. Remember the logo is meant for the “Gazza” brand and not “GMP” brand. You could walk away with N$2000 worth of Chelete,” he wrote on his Twitter.

Sure enough many hopefuls jumped on the band wagon with some letting jokes fly, while others genuinely gunning for the cash prize, but there were a few who reacted by saying that he is exploiting people and their ideas.

@ervinkahorere wrote “You literally are making people work for you without paying them and you’ll take all those concepts, combine them to make the final concept. If you can offer a N$350 at least for the first 50 entries. Just to compensate time. That’ll be cool,”

While @veronicamuinjo commented “this is exploitative and unprofessional,”

This however did not stop many other people from sharing their creativity. Here are some of the funny and interesting logos that people came up with so far.
