The search for the National Song requires you to vote for the winning one today!

You may recall that during our 29th independence anniversary celebrations held this year, two songs that embraced unity and patriotism were choreographed and performed by various local artists, cultural groups and school going children. One of the songs will become the national song provided you vote for it.
The Ministry as the custodian of the Nationhood and National Pride (NNP) campaign in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture were tasked by Government to spearhead, coordinate the special project which is currently up and running.
The national Song titled: My Namibia – a song which is less formal but jovial, patriotic and one which will instill national pride among Namibians.
The songs that feature artists including Oteya, Gazza, Adora, Hishishi Papa, Sunny Boy, King Tee Dee are currently on YouTube where you can watch them and vote for the one you would like to be the national song.
For one to participate in this competition, you will have to SMS the key word for your preferred song to 33033.
• To vote for Song 1one will have to SMS SO1 to 33033
• To vote for Song 2 SMS SO2 to 33033
• The SMS cost N$ 2.00
The SMS line will be closed on 2 July. The winning song will be declared the “My Namibia Song” and will therefore become a national song that will complement our National Anthem.
