Watch: MTC’s oSmartPhona advertisment here

Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) through their parent advertising agency, Advantage Y&R Namibia has released the advertisment for the oSmartPhona campaign.

The video features a medley of recognisable Nambian creatives such as Zulu Ama Daz Floor, models Varaa Hambira, Johanna Swaartbooi, Aina Kweyo and Courage The Comedian as well as DJ Alba.

In the advertisement Zulu Ama Daz Floor’s character walks into a posh and uptown party where many of the party goers are struggling with their internet connections as they find it difficult to upload videos and pictures from the party. However, as the party continues, Zulu’s character provides enough 4G connectivity for the party to go on smoothly.

The oSmartPhona campaign was launched in 2016 by MTC at the cost of US$60 million (about N$870 million) to upgrade from 2G to 3G telecommunications network. The campaign’s main goal was to provide 20 000 subscribers with an internet connection. The campaign also saw MTC introduce affordable smartphones for their customers in an effort to provide them access to 3G network in 2016. The campaign is back with a 4G upgrade for all MTC customers.
