Voice of Namibia brings more music, more talent, growth for the Namibian music industry!
A musical event that seeks to elevate the Namibian music scene is back once again and for the third time to give a chance to Namibian talents. This time, according to the founder Alinda Lu’Mar, the competition started off with 25 finalists who will battle it out on 1 February at a live elimination show, which will leave the top 10.
“In 2018 the competition was driven on multi-media with public votes and online judges. In 2019 we improved and expanded on the previous year’s format,” she says.
The event has a successful track record with the previous year’s winners living up to their titles and letting their talents known through various projects.
“We discover talent, get them on stage and there they start to get rid of stage fright and just to see what they are capable of. With this type of competition, we try to let them discover their own talent instead of promising them aspects that can’t be kept.” She said.
The event has been well received by the public with its social media pages growing by the day. The founder says they still rely on sponsors to make the event possible more especially when it comes to awarding the winners.
If you have a special spot for local arts and talent, this is a show not to be missed! Keep an eye out on the Voice of Namibia pages for more updates as well as finding out who is in the run!
