Base FM Local Top 10 Awards 2019 recognise hardworking entertainers for 2019

Base FM Local Top10 chart awarded artists that performed the best on the chart under the Base FM Top 10 awards first of its kind, simply thanking artists for the incredible hits they produced this year that was featured on the Base FM Local Top10.

Base FM is one of the biggest supporters of Namibian Music and this is another milestone for the station in its quest to celebrate Namibian Music just not on the airwaves but also rewarding artists. The winners for this year were determined based on their performance on the chart for 2019, and the shorting list was done according to that. We only started off with

5 categories for now mainly:

  1. Longest charting artist
This award went to the artists who spend the longest time on the chart and Lize Ehlers spent 50+ weeks on the chart with three songs Fantastic Sam, Iewers in die middel from her album 5 and Skabba bough of her current album.
  2. Artist with the Most number’s
The artist needs to have more than 1 song at number 1 during the year and only one artist Y Cliff was able to achieve this with two songs manly Love you all night ft. rapper Lioness and Namibian Queen.
  3. Break Through Artist
This award celebrates new artists that joined the chart for the first time with an impactful present on the chart. YK & Yuli Yung which is a Hip/Hop duo, they were also at number 1 for three whole weeks.
  4. Top 10 male artist
This award goes to the overall best performing male artist on the Base FM Local Top 10 and went to Y Cliff who had all of his singles featured on the chart since releasing music.
  5. Top 10 female artist
